Recruiting (high Lehren positions OPEN!)

Whitefire sat just outside the building, listening for the sounds of those strays. There had been a perticularly annoying group of pups recently, but she was sure that with a little training hey would become great pack members. One of them had surprisingly well developed psychic abilities she was hoping to ensnare.

As she waited patiently for a dog to come along, the greyhound wondered briefly about how the Bloodstar pack was getting along in their efforts to recruit. Hers were certainly not going very well, although she'd never let it show. None of these bandylegged, unallianced rogues seemed to realise the danger they were in! A stray of no pack was probably the most dangerous postion to be in right now! Certainly, a pack was not completely bulletproof either, but at least she could offer them protection as they prepared. When they were on their feet they would be indestructible... She just had to wait now, wait for them to come.

Raising his nose to sniff the air, Zero caught the scent of another dog...greyhound, perhaps? Curious, he padded toward the scent. Zero yawned, today was boring. there was no one to talk to and worst of all, no music. Using the steady rhythm of his paws padding on the ground, Zero closed his eyes and started humming a song to himself. He was so distracted that he ended up running into a Greyhound, the one he was heading toward. "s-sorry" he said and backed up, bowing his head.

With a snarl Whitefire whipped around and snapped, mostly with shock: she had not heard him approach. Was her age beginning to deafen her? The 7 year old certainly hoped not. Then she snapped her attention back to the one who had bumped into her. He was a German Shepherd, it appeared, of medium build and interesting markings. She was pleased by his politeness, although he looked a little bored in truth.

She gathered herself, then "What do you want here?" She asked quickly. It was polite, but commanding. He looked as though he was one whom may be suitable for a pack. She was not sure, however. Although the greyhound could not sense any Bloodstar pack air around him... And what was his power? She would need to find out, but waited for an answer to her previous question first. As he had collided with her, she had jumped up. Now she sat slowly again, lowering the bristling fur of her back but keeping an ear out for the sounds of others approaching, and an eye on the German Shepherd himself.

"uh...i was just looking for someone to talk too, and you where closest to where i was.." Zero said with a smile, ignoring the snarl. He continued to tap his paws on the ground, because his song was still playing in his head.
Wagging his tail, Zero asked "so what are you doing today?" and started to dance around the Greyhound.

In something close to bemusement Whitefire watched this other. He was very peculiar, although... The way he tapped his feet... There was just something about it that seemed right. It fit. Made sense. Like a correct sentence with all the right words. But she resisted the urge to smile and bop her head, instead considering how to phrase her 'request'. After a millisecond of watching him dance around her, she replied "You will, I expect, have heard of the crisis of the Bloodstar pack? The danger that all loners face? Well I offer a proposition. I am here, my friend, for you." Make it tempting and personal. Oh, this old girl knew a ting or two about the power of speech to get what she wanted, alright. "So, you like talking? Good. So do I." Whitefire smiled warmly, but her eyes followed the German Shepherd as he twisted and dived around her with none of the trust she showed.

After a couple more turns around the Greyhound, Zero stopped, directly in front of her and thought about what she had just said. "I didn't know there was danger...is it because of this Bloodstar pack? 'cause they don't sound too nice.." Zero trailed off, lost in thought. What kind of protection did she mean? a pack, maybe? Heh, why else would she be sitting here doing nothing? Getting tired of just standing there, Zero leaped a ways off the ground and started wandering around, Keeping in sight of the Greyhound. "So whats this proposition your talking about?"

She laughed gently at the queer one. He seemed interested, that was good. But formality came first. "Now now, I think we're getting ahead of ourselves!" If he knew about the Bloodstar pack, it would not hurt for him to know her name. "First things first, what is your name? I am Whitefire." Whitefire said. Her tone was gentle and friendly; this was clearly what appealed to him.

"But now, the deal I spoke of. There is indeed great danger in these..." She searched for a word,"Troubled, times, especially for loners. So I offer you the protection of hereforth Lehren pack. In return for your alliance, you may have food when you are hungry, comfort when you are said, interaction when you are lonely. And the key; protection." She stood and stretched a little. "So what do you say? We already have a few members. Thinking about them, I do believe you will get on like a house on fire.*" She hoped he would consent.

OOC: I have looked at Zero's bio. The 'house on fire' bit is relevant to his past, bt Whitefire does not know this. Just to add a bit more interest to the thing ;) ))

Zeros eyes widened and he stopped in his tracks. a house on fire... he remembered hearing the screams as his masters where burned alive, and worst of all, the screaming child...she was only a baby at the time... with a shudder, Zero snapped back into reality and continued wandering, suppressing the memories. "That sounds great...I'm Zero, by the way.." he said distantly, Wincing at every step he took, for his paws throbbed with the memory of severe burns.

Whitefire's ears snapped up instantly at Zero's change in attitude. But she decided not to mention it. Maybe she could use this sometime... "Well then Zero, are you in?" She smiled as he continued to limp around her, then feeling guilty, went against her better judgment to gruffly ask "I hope you are okay." Emotion and empathy were not the greyhound's strongpoints.

"yeah, im in, getting to know more dogs would be good," Zero murmured. "And its nothing...i think i stepped on a sharp rock or something" He said, making a show of checking his paws, although he knew nothing was there. The faint sounds of music drifted to his ears while he was checking his hind paws. Lifting his head he looked north, where the sound where coming from. " do you hear that? it sounds like there's music playing.." Zero commented, getting ready to dash off to look for the source of the music. It was his favorite song, after all.

Whitefire said nothing as he over-dramatically checked his paws; he was obviously faking it. What had she said? Searching back, the greyhound could find nothing wrong with her previous comments. Then she smiled widely at his acceptance. Another one down! "Good. Well then, I do believe that it is time for you to meet the others. They will be at the Firefighter Station. Tell the short one with the flat face," She drew closer "Tell him; Wir sind die Lehren. Keine überwinden uns. Wir nicht entweder gehen noch verlassen. Und wir sterben nie. That is our motto. Remember it."

Then she raised her long face to the wind, closed her eyes and listened. "I hear no music..." She breathed... And sighed.

OOC: Thread being set up now... Called 'The short one with the flat face'. Just tell Kane that thing(it means: We are the rulers. None shall overcome us. We shall not either leave nor desert. And we shall never die.) and your in! Sorry about all the back and forthness ^^'

Zero was taken aback, because he was sure music was playing. He heard it loud and clear, but, why couldn't Whitefire? The pain in his paws momentarily forgotten, Zero said "I know there is music playing, its already on the third verse of the song! why cant you hear it?" he stared, confused, to where the music was coming from. "its right over there...." Zero stated.

OOC: alrighhttt :3 oh, btw, Zero doesnt know about his powers yet, he thinks all dogs are like him. and its not a problemmooo~

Whitefire sighed and listened with all her might, but could not hear a sound. Deciding he was messing with her, she gruffly muttered "Well, go along then, Zero." Then she turned and sat, facing the building just as she had before this queer one had crashed into her. She could still not catch the scents of those she sought so hopefully.

" Well then...I'll go investigate alone...after i talk to the short one, that is" Zero said with a sigh, and padded off.
